Driving past Mary Lake Beach daily last winter left a lasting impression of the lonely ice huts dotting the vast cold landscape. I kept thinking I must capture this image. On one of the greyest winter days just before ice out I stopped and grabbed a few pics under very heavy cloud. Not only does this painting capture the beautiful isolated landscape of Mary Lake in Winter, it also captures the heavy mood of last winter.
